Weslo Cadence® c22 treadmill Review

A feature rich treadmill at an amazing price, the Weslo Cadence C22 treadmill is great value for money. It is the cheapest model from the Weslo stable and is priced less than $200. Naturally it is not high quality or high warranty. But it would do nicely for someone wanting a sturdy, basic machine.

It is powered by a 1.0 HP motor, which gives speeds up to 5 mph. Its motor is suitable only for light walking. It comes with a13 x 40-inch tread belt that is not roomy enough for some. But it is designed for long life and comfortable workout.

It also has a step-by-step workout console which keeps track of speed, time, distance, calories and fat calories burned. This enables you to visually keep track of your work out.

There is also a manual incline that helps adjust the intensity of your walk. It comes with 3 incline lock positions- 5, 7 and 9 percentages. This makes for variety in your cardio workout. The more the incline, the harder the workout.

It also has a speed dial that allows you to gradually adjust the pace of your work out. It has a Space Saver design which helps to fold away and store and use the machine.

For around $200, you are getting a treadmill built only for occasional light use. But the Weslo Cadence C22 treadmill is popular with people who are price conscious and do not want to dish out too many dollars for a poor machine. But there are trade-offs.The Weslo C22 has a narrow and short tread belt. If you are over 5’6”, you must consider another model. The 1.0 HP motor is the smallest in the industry.

This is the entry-level brand for Weslo and features cheap machines for a cheap price. They lack the power of more expensive brands and are built for smaller running areas. If you are a serious runner, get ready to spend around $1000 or hit the road. The cheap models are meant for power walkers and recreational joggers. Also for the person who wants to keep fit while it is raining outside.

One criticism is the short warranties on the Weslo Cadence C22 treadmill. Unfortunately, it is the inevitable trade off for a cheap machine. You can extend the warranty while purchasing the machine for an extra cost but this is not recommended.

In sum, the features of a Weslo Cadence C22 treadmill are-

  • 1.0 HP motor
  • Speed control
  • 3 position incline
  • Step by step workout console
  • Space saver technology
  • Speed –0-5 mph
  • Tread belt size-13 x 40 inches
