Reebok® treadmills Review
Reebok is one of the most popular global brands in sports goods. So, Reebok treadmills carry the same advantage in brand name and loyalty. Reebok treadmills are expensive compared to other models but their U.S.P. is their brand name which people are familiar with and trust. Brand names do not come cheap, after all.
What customers may not know is that Reebok is manufactured by Icon Health and Fitness, the same fitness equipment, global market leader of fitness equipment who brings out other brands like Nordic track, Weslo, ProForm etc. Reebok also holds trademarks in a number of countries worldwide. They have invested millions of dollars into R& D and product enhancements. Reebok treadmills are marketed as “designed for clubs, made for home”. One important distinction is that Reebok treadmills meant for home are exclusively made by Icon. Reebok for club use come from some other manufacturers. Why Reebok is popular is because of brand name and the belief that it will be around in future if servicing is needed. But the brand is definitely over priced. They are priced from $1200 to $2000 which is more than that charged by similar treadmills of other brands. Critics also point out some questionable quality of components in Reebok’s treadmills. Regarding warranty, Reebok compares favorably with competitors. Some other brands of Icon like Weslo and ProForm are infamous for their short warranties. But Reebok’s warranties on parts and labor are good. In most models the frame is covered for a lifetime, the belt, deck, electrical and mechanical components for 2 years, labor for 12 months. Crucially, the motor comes with a 2 to 3 year guarantee. Some top features and strengths of Reebok are as follows. Most Reebok models offer space saving foldable design, which makes them convenient to store and use. Many Reeboks are iFit technology compatible. This means you can customize your workouts according to inputs form videos, CD’s and the Internet. This is a popular feature of most Icon machines. EKG pulse grips also a common feature of Reeboks helps to give accurate readings of heart rate by convenient gripping of sensors in handlebars. It helps you to stay in your target heart rate zone while working out. Reebok also gets positive reviews from consumers. Especially inviting positive remarks are the sturdy feel and the large walking areas. Weaknesses of Reebok especially the older models are the short warranty-90 day warranties that used to come with the older models. It is a sign of poor quality and possible expenditure in future for wear and tear. The large walking area is also a cause for concern as the small motor may not be able to with stand such a pressure. Reebok is however making improvements in these areas. Models like Reebok 3500 C offer a longer 10 year warranty and a more powerful 2.25 HP motor. Of the various Icon brands, Reebok tends to be at the higher end with improved construction backed by longer warranty. . The deck size is quite impressive. The 9200 for instance has a lengthy 60” belt, which can handle the tallest user. Over all, Reebok is a good treadmill that will withstand regular home use. Loyal customers would add, why go in for other brands when here is a brand with a safe and established name to trust?
